Repeated studies have confirmed that less than 25% of software development projects ever meet their objectives. كررت وأكدت الدراسات ان اقل من 25 ٪ من مشاريع تطوير البرمجيات من اي وقت مضى في تحقيق اهدافها. Extensive research has shown that these time and cost overruns are largely avoidable, because the processes that produce high quality software on time, and on budget, are well-known. وقد اظهرت الابحاث على نطاق واسع ان هذه المرة وتجاوز التكاليف الى حد كبير يمكن تجنبها ، لان العمليات التي تنتج برمجيات عالية الجوده في الوقت المحدد ، وعلى الميزانيه ، معروفة.

Designed to minimize the high frequency of failures in outsourced software development projects, Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute has developed the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) to assess a vendor's ability to complete developmental projects within a specified budget and timeframe. تهدف الى التقليل من وتيرة عالية من الاخفاقات في الاستعانة بمصادر خارجية تطوير البرمجيات المشاريع ، وجامعة كارنيجي ميلون ومعهد هندسة البرمجيات التابع طورت القدرة على النضج نموذج (ل ا ج ب) من اجل تقييم قدرة احد البائعين لاستكمال مشروعات التنمويه ضمن الاطار الزمني المحدد والميزانيه. The CMM is a collection of best practices grouped into five levels of maturity, specifically developed to help others make measured improvements in their Software Engineering/System Engineering and Project Management capabilities. فإن ل ا ج ب هو مجموعة من افضل الممارسات في خمسة مستويات من النضج ، وضعت خصيصا لمساعدة الآخرين تجعل قياس التحسن في هندسة البرمجيات / نظام ادارة المشاريع الهندسية وقدرات.

Like the ISO 9000 standard, the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) is also a model-based software process improvement approach. مثل معيار الايزو 9000 ، والقدرة على النضج نموذج (ل ا ج ب) هو ايضا نموذج قائم البرمجيات عملية تحسين النهج. PSEB recommends that, for the growing number of Pakistani software and service companies that are already ISO 9000-certified - and are now hoping to achieve a higher level of process maturity - should consider qualifying for a CMM certification as well. PSEB توصي ، لعدد متزايد من الباكستانيين البرمجيات وشركات الخدمات التي هي بالفعل الايزو 9000 - مصدق -- والآن أملا في تحقيق مستوى اعلى من عملية النضج -- ينبغي ان تنظر ا ل أ ج ب المؤهلة لاصدار الشهادات ايضا.

This model addresses certain fundamental business decisions not supported by the ISO 9000 or other systems of product quality. ويتناول هذا النموذج بعض الاعمال الاساسية قرارات لا يدعمها الايزو 9000 أو نظم اخرى من نوعية المنتج. The CMM enables companies to better serve their customer's interests by providing answers to the customer's decision problems, such as: Is the supplier able to sustain the reliability of its production? وقد يمكن ل ا ج ب شركات تقديم خدمة أفضل لعملائها من خلال توفير مصالح اجابات على العميل المقرر المشاكل ، مثل : هو المورد قادرا على إدامة امكانيه التعويل على انتاجه؟ It also effectively answers internally-focused questions, such as: How can we improve the reliability of our production? وهو أيضا فعال داخليا تركز على إجابات الاسءله ، مثل : كيف يمكننا تحسين موثوقيه انتاجنا؟ How can we measure the effectiveness of our Project Management Processes? كيف يمكننا قياس فعالية مشروعنا ادارة العمليات؟ The primary aim of CMMI is continuous process improvement, from the individual task level to the corporate level. والهدف الرئيسي من CMMI هو عملية التحسين المستمر ، من الفرد الى مستوى المهمة مستوى الشركات.
